Before joining Ultimate Performance, Sophie found herself lacking motivation and seeking comfort from Netflix shows. Like many high-flying professionals, Sophie could only muster the energy to get up and go to work, to come home and crash on her couch.
Reassuring for a short period, but Sophie knew that enough was enough.
Too scared to join a commercial gym, Sophie realised the right answer was to invest her time and money into something that would last.
Paired with a trainer that she trusted and admired at Ultimate Performance, Sophie was able to transform herself in just eight short weeks, losing an impressive 5kg. The lean, toned body she had always longed for was created.
“From day one, walking through the door, to now, I’d say I’m a lot happier and a lot more confident.

Prior to her life-changing experience at U.P., Sophie had vowed to get fit and strong before turning 30.
“It was my 30th birthday coming up at the end of the year – for the last year of my 20s, I wanted to look the best that I could and feel the healthiest that I could.
“I was relatively active – I don’t have a computer-based job, but I wasn’t motivated to go out and do exercises. I’d run occasionally but probably couldn’t do a 5K without stopping.
“Before I was a bit gloomy, a bit drowsy, didn’t have the motivation to do anything but go to work and come home.”
Lacking drive and passion was causing Sophie to neglect priorities, and she often found herself avoiding doing the things that she really needed to.
“Before joining U.P., I felt really not great about my appearance. I wouldn’t wear shorts or a bikini, and I didn’t like clothes shopping.”
“Before the program, I’d come home from work and just sit on the sofa, binge-watching TV.”
With her confidence and body-image at a low ebb, Sophie realised that now was the time to take a drastic change in her life.
With no idea how to use the equipment in a commercial gym, Sophie knew that the only way to commit to her goal was to bring in the experts.
The idea of entering a gym alone was intimidating. Sophie was aware that while a fitness class might improve her fitness in the short term, it would still leave her with no idea of how to continue with good habits once she was home.
An intensive program was the only way that Sophie was going to achieve the body of her dreams before she hit the big 3-0.

During the process, Sophie quickly began to notice both mental and physical changes.
From day one, she realised that a cocktail of healthy-living components was required to keep up a good routine, including food and sleep.
With the help of her trainer, Sophie was able to improve her sleep pattern and eating habits, allowing her to radiate energy and wake up with a more positive mindset.
“At U.P., you learn about nutrition, sleep, all those other priorities.
“When I started, the results on the wall seemed really far-fetched, I didn’t think it was achievable for me. You realise as each week goes by, you can do it.”
Despite her initial reservations, it quickly became clear that the body she desired was far more achievable than she thought.
The hundreds of client transformation photos on the gym wall started to become motivating and inspiring, rather than daunting.
The more Sophie worked, the better her results. It spurred her on to train harder than ever.
“As each training session goes by, you get a little closer and you realise that you can do it and it’s not as tough as you thought it was.”
“Since training, I feel so much more confident to go out and do what I want to do, wear the clothes that I want to wear.”
“I’ve started to enjoy training, which I never, ever thought that I would.”
After each training session, Sophie described leaving feeling an immense sense of happiness, no matter how challenging the process was.
Now, with visible abs and a lean, lithe physique, Sophie feels more prepared to tackle daily tasks in a confident, assertive manner, seizing opportunities as she sees them.
“Eight weeks is a long time to get as much out of it as you can.
“If I’d have gone to a normal gym, I don’t think I’d have achieved the results that I got at U.P.”
Feeling stronger and healthier was just as important as looking toned. A strong will proved to be just as crucial as muscles when it came to weightlifting.
“I’d say the magic ingredient to success at U.P. is determination. I feel like that last rep always comes sooner than you think it’s going to.
“If you just keep your head down and power through to the end, you can do it.
“The whole journey from start to finish has been great. I feel like my relationship with food is so much better, which I’m really, really happy with.”
After recognising the importance of a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle, Sophie learned that diet was just as important as exercise when it came to transforming your body.
Thanks to harnessing the knowledge and wisdom of her trainer, Sophie is able to apply the skills she has equipped herself with to every other part of her life.
