Film producer Umar forged a physique that wouldn’t look out of place on the big screen after working with Ultimate Performance.

Despite a hectic work schedule in the film industry, the 24-year-old finally carved out the six pack abs he’d always wanted.

Umar dropped over 10kg in weight during his transformation journey and cut his body fat down from 23.5% to a super-lean 8.9%.

What were your expectations going into your UP body transformation and what were your motivations?

“After seeing some great results from UP, I was hoping for similar results but having trained the first few sessions with my trainer Sean and experiencing how tough the training is, I knew it would be very difficult.”

“But having small goals set by my trainer and tailored sessions to the way I trained really helped to stay motivated and focused for the entire period.”

What was your diet like before you came to UP?

Umar works long hours as a film producer, which meant irregular meal times and fast-food were a normality. Breaking this habit was a huge factor in Umar’s progression.

“Working long hours in film production, my diet was all over the place – often skipping breakfast and having irregular lunches and odd hours.

“Staying late in my industry often results in take-out pizzas and junk too at crunch times.”

Can you tell me how you were feeling both physically and mentally before starting the program? 

“I was feeling physically very out of shape and mentally tired at the start of the 12-week program but was very motivated to make a change in my body shape.”


How did your diet and lifestyle change when you started your transformation? 

“My trainer made sure to run through each aspect of the diet and training plan he wrote in a lot of detail so I understood the reasons behind the plan which really helped to focus me and gain an understanding of why I was training and eating in the way I was.”

“At first, I tried (against my trainer’s advice!) using a food delivery service to hit my calories and it was extremely tough at first sticking to the low calories on food that didn’t taste great, but after discussing further and refining with my trainer I moved to preparing my own food which made a huge difference.”

“After getting the more sustainable method of preparing my own food set as my daily routine and having improved my technique through my trainer’s help in the gym, I started to have a lot of fun and began to notice a big increase in my energy levels, feeling tired after hard sessions but in a good way and very motivated to continue.”

What effect did this have on your health, performance, lifestyle and energy inside and outside the gym?

“Outside the gym, I felt more focused in my work.”

Having regular meals at set times, getting better sleep and not drinking alcohol; I felt great day to day.

How did you find the training and did it fit around your busy lifestyle? 

“My trainer made sure the training was intense and no two sessions were exactly the same, we always pushed ahead and progressed, which made training fun and interesting.”

“I trained at 6 am at UP and around the same time when training alone.”

At first waking up so early was a challenge but after getting into the habit it fit well into my extremely busy work schedule.

What were your results like? 

Through my trainer’s great training plan and constant support, I dropped from 23% to 9% (body fat) over the period I trained at UP and felt great.

What were the most important things you learned during your journey and what really worked for you in helping you make your transformation? 

I learned a lot from my trainer on the reasons behind the way we were training and that helped massively in the transformation.

“The main thing I learned was consistency is everything and what you eat and do outside of the time at UP is so important to your results, there’s no room to be complacent outside of the training hours at UP if you want results!”

How has doing this transformation changed you and do you think it will benefit you going forward? 

I feel better in every aspect of life from a health standpoint and from a focus at work point of view.

“Training with UP has made a massive difference to my day to day life and I’m looking forward to continuing the training in the next period with Sean to continue the great results.”

“Absolutely, without my trainer’s guidance and expertise, I would not have got anywhere close to the results I got.”

It’s not easy and you have to be motivated but it is very very worth it.
